President's Corner

Dear Peine Ridge Families,

Spring Break is finally here, and as I'm writing this we are under a winter storm warning for up to 11 inches of snow. Ugh! All too soon though we will be approaching nicer weather and some fun activities at school!

As always, the PTO provides assistance for various activities like 4th Grade Camp, Field Day, and Kindergarten and 5th Grade graduation. Two other important school events are Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week and Pawfest Carnival. Information on both events will come home with students soon, so please make sure to take a moment to look over the materials.

Other important PTO events taking place in the month

of April include the PTO Movie Night on the 12th, showing Wreck It Ralph. The other is the PTO Board elections on the 18th at the last PTO meeting of the year. This will be in the school library at 3:30, with free childcare provided. If you are interested in running for a position, please contact us at pto@peineridgepto.org.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is May 6 - 10 Peine Ridge Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is coming up in the first week of May. The PTO plans big for this week and offers students and families an opportunity to join in on the celebration. During the week there will be a mailbox in the school foyer where students can drop appreciation/thank you letters for their teachers or any staff member. The PTO will deliver the letters to the staff member at the end of the day. The PTO also knows how much people love to eat, so we are also planning three days of meals for the staff on the first three days of the week, including breakfast, sweets day, and lunch. Pawfest T-shirt designs are coming!! The T-shirt design for the Pawfest Carnival on May 11th is ready! Order forms will come home with students in mid April and will sell for $6 each. The form will be uploaded here as soon as it's available. Students will have the opportunity of choosing from six colors of T-shirts including electric green, safety orange, royal blue, safety pink, and kelly green.
