The Peine Ridge fourth annual Pawfest is coming soon on Saturday, May 12, from 11 am to 3 pm. This is a family fun event which hosts many activities for children of all ages featuring fun carnival games, inflatable park, face painting, clowns and balloon animals and yummy concessions. As always, this fun event will not be a success without LOTS of parent volunteers. The PTO has tried to make signing up to volunteer easier by using a new resource called "Sign up Genius." As a parent you have the opportunity to impact your student’s life. As a PTO board member you can impact even more student’s and even teacher’s lives. By running for a board position, you have the ability to use your passion and skills to help improve the resources and activities that the students at Peine Ridge can experience. Elections will take place in April, so think about what opportunities await for you. The following positions are available:

 

President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Vice President of Fundraising, Vice President of Committees, Recording Secretary, Publishing Secretary

The PTO is pleased to present "Smurfs" for the upcoming Movie Night at Peine Ridge on January 27, 2012. Flyers should be coming home with students sometime this week. Doors open at 6:15 and the movie starts at 6:30. Pick up time is promptly at 8:45 p.m. Students bring a sleeping bag/blanket and a pillow to hang out with their friends for the evening. For a fee of $5.00 per student, they will get to view the movie in the gym and receive popcorn and a Capri Sun during intermission. The best part of the evening is after the movie when door prizes are drawn. Just ask any student who has attended! A warm and heartfelt thank you goes out to Michelle Czmowski and the many parents who volunteered their time and cutlery talents for the Hospitality Night at Peine Ridge in October! Michelle was gracious to help organize an evening of food and snacks for the teachers and staff during the parent/teacher conferences at the school. The teachers worked a full day of school and stayed into the evening to meet with parents, unable to leave the building to get dinner. The teachers really appreciated the hospitality stating, "Thank you for making conferences so enjoyable," and "It was so nice to be able to sit down and eat a good meal that night."

Effective October 1st, the school library will have a copy schedule for copy moms and volunteers to sign up for two-hour blocks of time to use the copier machine. This should make things easier for volunteers to schdule their time for the copier.

The PTO will host Movie Nights at Peine Ridge gymnasium on various Fridays throughout the school year. The time is from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. with a suggested donation of $5.00 per student. These dates are September 30, November 18, January 27, and April 20. This is a fun-filled evening of a movie, popcorn, drink, and treat for the children in grades K-5. We also have some pretty awesome door prize drawings at the end of the night. Look for a permission slip to be sent home with your student. If you'd like to volunteer, just check the box on the slip and we'll be in touch with you. It's also a great night out for parents too!

Mark your calendars! The PTO is hosting a second annual Trivia Night on Friday, October 7th. The event will take place at Wentzville's Progress Park's Banquet Room (across from the pool). Patron are allowed to bing in any type of food or drink and hawaiian dress is strongly encouraged! There will be door prizes as well as a costume contest. More information to follow!!
